Have you ever noticed people look so caught up in their own problems when walking down the street? Sometimes they tend to be so absent and don’t even realize what a beautiful time it is outside. If you would have the chance to “make the day” of the ones surrounding you, what would you do? This is an idea that Improv Everywhere came up with:
The project “Say Something Nice” was produced as part of the Guggenheim Museum exhibition stillspotting nyc and consisted solely of a wooden lectern with an attached sign, a megaphone placed in public spaces around New York. No actors, no stunts, just people wishing other people a nice day or simply “saying something nice”.
Why is this an idea worth spreading all over the world? Because it’s easy to build (literally), it’s effective and… it gives you joy. Sometimes, the most difficult emotions can be expressed with a few words. So check out the making of this project and share a smile with others as often as you can 🙂 Have a lovely day!
