How technology and empathy can change lives: Saijai Liangpunsakul at TEDxAmRing
Saijai Liangpunsakul grew up in a small town in the south of Thailand, believing that technology with empathy can change lives. Her passion to empower lives using mobile technology led her to improve communal health and connect villagers with health services, all while using open source applications that could be shared easily and freely within a community. As Dimagi Field Manager she has worked with Community Health Workers in Thailand, Zambia, Laos, Nepal and India to design open source mobile solutions to help patients struggling with HIV, birth control issues, local widespread diseases, and to improve healthcare access. Liangpunsakul was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the USAID Bangkok Mobile Solutions Forum for her proposal on using mobile application to tackle dengue outbreak in Thailand.
